Rachel Young BA Hons, Dip Counselling - Director

Rachel Young is a qualified integrative counsellor. She has 3 years experience working as an addictions counsellor with RAPt (Rehabilitation of Addicted Prisoners Trust)at Bullingdon Prison.  She and her colleagues at Bullindon developed the first Alcohol Treatment Programme ever to be delivered in UK prisons. Her style is integrative, which means that she uses theory and practice from a number of different types of therapy, to provide the client with a tailor made style which will suit their needs. Her practice is humanistic, with strong emphasis on Gestalt, and aspects of Person Centred, Transactional Analysis and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. She is currently working towards an MA in Gestalt Counselling at the prestigious Gestalt Centre in London.

Gareth Chick - Director

Gareth Chick is a Partner in Spring Partnerships, an internationally renowned Cultural Change Consultancy working with global companies. A qualified accountant with a 30 year business career as a Plc CFO, CEO and Chairman, Gareth has also served on the boards of public bodies such as Training and Enterprise Councils and Social Housing Groups. Gareth’s passion is leadership, specifically performance coaching within corporations, and is author of ‘Coaching Skills for Line Managers’ which has become a benchmark training programme for many leading companies, and for the Academy for Chief Executives. Gareth is a keen runner, and would love to find more time to play his 4 guitars.

Hannah Messenger - Receptionist

Hannah is completing her professional training and also works with young people.  She enjoys the energy within the Banbury Counselling Centre. She is looking to develop her skills whilst being part of an exciting team that is here for all who desire help and support to grow.

Duncan Ayerst - Receptionist

Duncan is a student studying Philosphy at Manchester Metropolitan University. He is working at the Centre because he needs to make some money to live on, but also because he wants to learn about the work that is done here.  He feels strongly about developing himself and using whatever resources are out there to help him.
