What is Art Therapy? | |
| Art therapy combines images, words and experiences in a process which can be used to change patterns of behaviour and make permanent improvements to interpersonal relationships. |
|
| How does Art Therapy Work? | |
![]() | Art Therapy opens the way for you to identify and express difficult feelings in a creative way in your own safe and private space. A wide choice of art materials in the therapy room encourages you to explore and express these feelings through art. The visual images you create are a record that you can revisit at any time. Discovering the meaning of these images is a collaborative process with the art therapist and helps you discover links between your behaviour and your emotions. Understanding these links will help you gain therapeutic insight into your emotional wellbeing. |
Do you need to be good at art to benefit from Art Therapy? | ![]() |
No you don't need to be. The images you make will not be assessed or judged in any way. They are there to help you together with the art therapist, explore and understand your emotions.
