Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
Banbury Counselling Centre is mindful of the importance of CPD for a number of reasons.
Firstly it is important for therapists & practitioners to maintain, review & refresh their skills on a regular basis. In fact that is why many of our professional bodies require this as an ongoing part of our membership obligations each year.
Additionally CPD offers us the opportunity to continue to develop, learn & grow side by side as professionals. It is an opportunity for us to work together in what can often be an isolating profession as many therapists work from home. As such CPD has added value in terms of networking with other therapists & practitioners in our local area.
One of the aims for Banbury Counselling Centre is to build up a community of like minded therapists to engage & deliver CPD in house.
The first of these groups took place on June 27th 2009 under the aptly titled banner of Recharge! The aim of this CPD group is as the name would suggest! a chance to recharge our resources and engage in dynamic theory & experiential practice whilst hopefully also having some fun in the process. At BCC we believe CPD can be refreshing, energising, challenging & even inspiring.
The BCC hosts the Recharge group and charge a minimal £15 per person to cover the cost of the room. It is the intention of the group that the members will bring their knowledge, expertise and experience to share with others, in an atmosphere of mutual support and equality.
